Christ Church Cathedral, Lisburn

The memorial plaques are mounted on the railings. The original stone engraved plaques are on the wall behind and are indeed in very bad condition. There are some flat stones in front of the wall (inside the railings) which are probably the tomb covers.

As for the stained glass window, the booklet about the Cathedral makes reference to Louis being represented in the window! Louis is at the bottom of the 2nd from left window wearing a very fine-looking coat.

Click to enlarge, and compare with an old map of Lisburn (formerly known as Lisnagarvey).

The aerial picture barely reveals the memorial. Follow the line of the cars parked at the rear of the Cathedral; between the three red cars and, to their left, the large tree - at the top tip of the tree's shadow - you will be able to discern the back of the memorial wall which runs along the back wall of the cemetery.

The building in the middle of the square opposite the spire-end of the Cathedral is the Lisburn Linen Museum. The cafe in this Museum is called the 'Crommelin Cafe'!

Linen Museum

The Museum has a portrait of Louis but it is uncertain whether it is the original or a copy. Another Picture can be seen in the Museum and the front cover of the Louis booklet.

Yes there is a Huguenot Library, but not at the British Museum, it is at the University College London (UCL). I spent a morning there last year. They have quite a few Crommelin family trees, hand written, and various other documents.

'Hope you find this of interest.

Sincerely,
Gay (Gabriel) Crommelin
