The Iliade Travestie was a project that Isaac started. He had parodied several epic poems from Homer’s Iliad (as you can read on page vij of the préface attached) and a group of ‘scientists, officers, magistrates, writers, etc.’ decided to expand and finish his handwritten notes into a book that was published in Isaac’s honour. This copy of the book was purchased by Govert Deketh.
