The book, "Dear Mother" is a compilation of letters and photographs by Marinus Crommelin in 1901-02. Patrick Serne, a grandson of Marinus, translated the letters from Dutch into English and thus provides us with an authentic look into what it was like to be a young immigrant in America 100 years ago.
