The Scary Face of Rejection
Although before, I seemed a scary foe,
Yet afterward I am nothing so.If you understand the undeniable fear
Of rejection that comes before a fall,
You then a broken heart will bear
For no hopeful sign came near
In response to your heart's plaintive call.Is this the goblin from whose face,
We fly as being dreadful?
Then turn the face the other way 'round,
Now it appears not half so fearful. That which with sorrow you complain,
To have missed your heart's delight,
Becomes ease and liberty to bear
If you simply judge it aright. You see, all gold has its dross to repel
And when she did your timid hopes repulse,
Your apprehensions she also did expel,
So in future you'll no longer with fear convulse. If at first you don't succeed,
you'll try again, but with more courage next time.
