Springs of Living Water
Above, the sea is ruffled
Below, the sea is calm.Since days of old there were found to be
Fresh water streams in the midst of the sea
As rivers flowed into the ocean wide
Not pausing to mingle with the briny tide.
And so it is with hearts, you see;
Pure hearts in the midst of temptation's song
Can resist the lure of the turbulent throng.The good and pure may a minority be
But living springs refresh them adequately;
And while waves on the surface do crash and churn,
Consider the vast depths below where the water's calm.Though clamorous tongues both tempt and blame,
A constant heart remains always the same.James 3:11
Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?Jeremiah 2:13
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.John 4:13,14
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
