Peeling an Onion

If naked you do me desire,
Your trickling tears I then require.

If any go about to pull, the Onion of its shell,
His cheeks with tears it will bedew, I know it very well.
But they that will with Onions play,
And handle them in a decent way;
Must let the jacket cover it still,
And so can play and have their fill.

You may well with your love converse,
And that in modest fashion,
But let you not come too near the bare,
And to touch without discretion.

For one thing leads to another and then,
What happens before you know it,
The tears do come for having had some fun
And the rest of your life - well, you've blown it.

Modesty is fragile,
Handle with care.
